Recently re-discovered Teenage Head by The Flaming Groovies .... was a Stones fan back in the day so always backed Exiles on Main Street but re-listened to Teenage Head recently and realised it is at least as good, arguably better, and it came first so maybe the Stones nicked a few ideas from the Groovies.

As kid I was only into soul/ disco/ska/jazz funk.
So almost every other type of music totally passed me by, far too many to mention but gradually getting through all those years of bands and singers that I thought were crap, but to be fair some really were and still are.
Unbelievably the biggest name is The Rolling Stones, that's how musically biased I was.

Hasn't passed me by but just heard Catfish and the Bottlemen and they sound rather good. I 'found' U2 in 1980 so I usually have a good feeling about bands, these sound good and have personality.

This lot totally past me by. I can only assume they were mocked at the time for sounding like a cross between Theatre of Hate and the Southern Death Cult (much in the way that Muse should have been consigned to history for ripping off Radiohead but weren't). Enjoy.

this isn't exactly exciting but I've just discovered Adele (yeah I know!) I only knew Rolling in the Deep (?) and her cover of Robert Smith's Love Song, but I heard Someone Like You on Friday, a song she wrote for an ex-boyfriend, really liked it and her voice. Not the sort of music I normally listen to tbh

I became aware of Pink Floyd forty years ago aged 11 and bought The Wall, then Dark Side of The Moon, then Wish You Were Here. Amazingly, I didn't get round to listening to much of their early stuff because there was so much good music around at that time but recently watched their Live At Pompeii movie and now Echoes Part 1 is one of my favourite songs of all-time. I will be listening to them when I'm 80.

Similar here. I recently bought Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters, which isn’t quite as free, and love it.
And I’ll buy in to anything and everything Miles Davis ever did.
