We have the older generation 35-dead, who think all modern music is just a noise and prefer Led Zep ( which some of their stuff was worse than noise) and the like

Don't judge others by the standards of your own record collection Dave

I like these threads cos everyone jumps in to show how wide-ranging/eclectic their musical tastes are, even though they're an old codger or young whippersnapper.

The truth of the matter is, it doesn't matter how many different styles, genres, era's your record collection embraces, if you don't listen to Otis Redding live at Monteray at least once a week then you're a no nothing musical NOBBER.:)

you are all deluding yourselves.

Just look at some of the threads on here...if you like a particular band, say Supertramp you are regarded as a pratt.....whereas if you like the Scissor Sisters, you are ok by the young fools on here.

Hang on, who says you're a pratt ? I like Green Day and I;m older than you does that make me a pratt ? Not in my book. I can clearly remember Sipertramp and quite liked their stuff at the time. If they came on the radio now I wouldn't switch it off

I don't knock people who like Rap or Regae even though I can't stand either but I wouldn't expect people who like them to like Little Feat, it's a matter of personal preference and the only pratts are the people who knock other people's tastes just because they differ.

Sorry DTG but that's just nonsense. I'm older than you and there are plenty of modern performers whose music I like and whose albums I buy. My collection has items from every decade from the 1920s to the present day.

Good music is good music whenever it was recorded.

Yeah you are right....
