Used to do it loads when I lived in Devon - never this time of year though, September/October for field mushrooms. Don't think you'll find any......................

Been doing it quite a while now. Love autumn for this reason
Best to go on a foray to begin with.
I recommend Geoff Dann and he's just written a book which is very good for British fungi.
I can give you his number and he goes out around the Hastings and rye area.
There's over 4000 species in this country and no more than 10 that are really fatal.
Another bible is rogers mushrooms. Buy in online
