Absolutely woeful. WTF has he been doing these last two games while he's been suspended?! Drugs? Wanking? It was so bad, it actually became quite funny.

Only when Navarro came on did we start to play anything like what we've come to expect these days. Poyet will have some stern stuff to say tonight.

The fact you felt the need to open another thread, and not post in the original one which has sat at the top of the pile since the game ended, suggests to me you were at the game.

Was he really that bad?

Am on train home, now. Yes. Absolutely dire. Lacklustre, no effort, squandered two or three (?) golden chances in open play, missed the pen. I was expecting him to come back from suspension all fired up, raring to go. He looked like he had a hangover. Really poor. We all said, when he stepped up to take the pen, that he'd miss it. But they were pretty much all bad tonight. Gillingham bossed us big time. Very disappointing.

Don't be a twat. Were you there? Did you see his performance? I was complimenting our performance against Carlisle on here, when many others were slagging it. But tonight was very different. Gillingham bossed the game and you can see why they have a good home record. But I was still very disappointed by the performance tonight. Maybe their tactics just just too much for us.

Cheers for the report there Mr East. Well done to you & the 1200 for making the effort tonight, but I'm just glad I stayed at home tbh. I reckon I'd have ended up in A&E after blowing several blood-vessels had I been in attendance! Safe journey home.

He has a fair point to be honest. We play well for a few games people get all excited. Our good run of form comes to an end, our best striker has a shit game, and suddenly the coin flips and we are slagging the team about again.

That was more or less what i meant. if we'd lost it would be understandable, but we were a penalty kick away from 3 points!

Trouble is we have no-one to replace him with unless you class a non league class player as his replacement
Muzza will have to contend with 2 decent strikers coming in next season. Holroyd will be nurtured in the reserves or sent out on loan to gain experience and confidence

Sorry, but ELS is ridiculously positive most of the time so he doesn't write a dire report unless it deserves one. And he's not slagging Murray on a whim, but stressing he's perhaps never going to be in the clinical class which is what we need if we're to make a challenge next season. And the evidence supports this. Even when he's scored, he's often had chances to put the game beyond reach but hasn't, turning potential wins into draws and sometimes defeats.

At the same time I don't think it's a co-incidence that we lost two in a row immediately after losing Painter and Murray. In fact, I think that's a big reason why.

I think if he is still here next season, he has got to improve his appalling disciplinary record, improve his timing of runs to reduce excessive offside decisions, and sharpen his finishing.

If he accomplishes those requirements then fans will warm to him big time.

If not then I can see him being listed in the January window.

Murray was off his game tonight, and didn't look like scoring the pen. That said we missed a lot of other chances. Thought the game was poor Gillingham played like a low level club hassling all the time and we didn't cope well. Arismendi was not in the game and only when the midfield was restored to the same as last few games. Hendrie was okay first half but was battered by their midfield. It's another point and an example of where we need to be tougher.
