spot on - a perfect outcome. Didn't want a walk-over, got a little scare to keep him focused, but a deserved win in the end. Let's hope the Lopez match goes to 5 sets and he wins - I think he had 5 sets in round 1 too.

yeah lopez was 5 sets first round is 1-1 and 5-5 now so murray has the advantage.still it may be late friday when they play!

That's fine. Our "boy" is getting stronger all the time, can't see him losing until he meets one of the top clay-court bods.

Is anyone honestly expecting Murray to beat Nadal on clay? (or anyone for that matter)

another decent bit of tennis for murray who now has more days off.One things for sure his fitness should be perfect going into the second week,Cilic next, could pose a threat but murray will be favourite! i can see him troubling nadal, maybe not beating him

Murray should be starting in the next 5/10 minutes for anyone who is interested on seeing if he makes it through to the quarters

very impressive stuff from murray in that first set, cilic has some huge groundstrokes but murray returned perfectly and played the big points well

i had no idea clay court legend alex corretja was coaching him,not sure if this is just for the clay season or permenant, surely just for the clay courts as he was useless on the other surfaces
