Was Glenn Murray left out today to avoid being cup-tied for the future rounds?

Or was he actually injured like stated on the team-line up page on SW. Lets hope so

Hopefully I'm putting 2 and 2 together and making 5

That's what Seagulls World is reporting but they're not going to say on there.

Hope it's actually genuine

The website is lying then ? ... This is the FA Cup not the Champions League, being cup tied is hardly going to affect his value IF the club are selling him.

He had to play a full game last Saturday when he was only on the bench as cover, then most of the Derby game, I'd say it's a genuine thigh injury, if there is any doubt not playing him today makes sense imo.

playing in the fa cup is really not going to effect the value of a league 1 player, jesus even if we were to sell him its not going to be to a club in with a chance of winning the thing

Cardiff were finalists last season...I would hope a championship team (at least) will be his destination if he does go, so it's not unreasonable to ask the question.

It is an injury though!

He was injured/unfit.

He looked very jaded against Derby in the week, and was subbed for this reason. Therefore he obviously wasn't fit enough to play in today's game.

Where are all these rumours coming from anyway? I see a lot of people saying he is off to Cardiff or QPR. But no one will say how they know this!!

If Micky is telling fibs then a lot of fans will never forgive him.

it does seem suspect as in all of Fridays press releases by the club, the Argus and various websites

Murray was fit
Fleetwood was not allowed to play

and suddenly things change....

I only say this because we could have had Virgo upfront with Robinson, Gargan, Loft, McLeod or Forster, maybe Gatting if they held on to him for another week.

There were loads of options available to us that didnt involve Fleetwood, whether they are as good as him is irrelevant, we could have fielded ANYONE upfront, we do it with Virgo so why not play someelse out of position for a game

I think that Fleetwood playing is the most astonishing and would suggest that he is coming here either on loan for the rest of the season or permanent. What happens to Murray is open to speculation but he is a saleable asset and by yesterdays crowd we shall have to sell one or more players to stay in existence. The fact that MA said he is injured means nothing as he couldnt say anything else really.
