HHmm... this may be heresy, but I think he's a bit of a fading force... when we were last in Div 1 he was pretty poor (apart from one massive innings).

Falmer:amex: on its way the county ground having a face lift all we need now is Brighton Bears to reform and an ice rink built and the Tigers to return.:bounce:

That will see him to the end of his career I would have thought.

I agree he is not quite the batsman he was but to keep such a star of the Golden Era to help out what is very much a team in transition its an excellent signing.

I do worry about our bowling however!

Saw him out bat Derbyshire along with RMJ, something like 110-4-5 at lunch, sat and admired at 230-4-5 at tea. By close 360+ on board both hit 'tons' so good to enjoy. Class act and always has been.

Papa, good point.but i don't think M/G wants or will fad away and slip away. He has always been a decent bat and i think he will know when to call 'it a day' :bhasign:

The most curious thing..
Second best overseas signing ever (after Mushtaq). Even if he is a fading force, he is still more of a force than most.

What about the pace bowling though. It's along time since a decent young fast bowler emerged out of Sussex.

I like the look of Hatchett, plus Amjad Khan has been signed. Think we should be okay for pace.

What have you heard, Marc?

Great news about Muzza, signing on for another 2 years. Solidity in the middle order.

Chad Keegan released, I just can't believe it!
