Most impressive team so far?

Which team has impressed you the most?

Argentina look neat and tidy and keep possession expertly, but nearly did what England did really. Mexico were a different class to SA without pulling up trees.

I'd say South Korea have probably been the best actually. They OWNED a sluggish Greece side, and I reckon they've got goals in them against some of the better sides. Dark horse maybe?

Tend to agree with all that. South Korea will qualify form their group as Nigeria are poor. Bit early to be reading too much into their chances of progressing as far as they did when they co hosted it though I reckon.

Argentina have been the most impressive performance wise so far

South Korea have been the biggest surprise in just how well they played compared to expectations

Lets wait til the first round of games have been completed.

Argentina. They've got class all over the park. If it wasn't for a hugely inspired performance by the Nigerian keeper they'd have won by half a dozen.

Well South Korea have had the best result so far.

Argentina are obviously the best footballing side, but could only put one past a poor Nigerian side.

They looked like world beaters at the last world cup, but imploded against the Germans, and I can see they same happening again this time, especially with that nutter, Maradona in charge.

South Korea, although Greece were very average.

Argentina good going forward, rocky at the back

England, capable first performance, marred by one mistake.

England were average, very average. After we scored, we hardly had a shot on goal.. dont think i actually got out of my chair, apart to top up my wine glass !!
I expect a little more from our boys....but hey , ive been waiting since 1966 !!!

Funnily enough, England were much better than I expected tonight. I was anticipating a defeat, so was pleased with the draw, and thought Heskey had an excellent game (despite his miss). Ho hum.

Then you will realise that invariably we start off slowly. Draws in our opening games in 1966 & 1990, which were the tournaments we performed in best.

Also in 1986 we lost our first game against Portugal, then drew with Morocco but performed better as the tournament went on.

When funnily enough we drew our first game, oh and in 1990, when we reached the semi.

It's all been a bit average so far, but its the first game ffs. I actually think we played quite well against a team who are actually ranked quite highly by FIFA.

maybe, but suspect defense that Nigeria didnt really test. i wonder how they'd react to being a goal behind. i dont think Maradona has a plan B.

France looked OK, considering they are supposed to be fractured team. We looked good too once we settled down, though it seems we cant do so for 50 minutes.

Argies.

Their forward options are as follows:
Messi
Tevez
Higuain
Aguero
Milito

that is ABSURD.

Surely Argentina and England will improve?

Argentina looked goodish going forward but Carragher would add pace to their defence.England looked like old England, too disjointed to go too far and lacking in verve and flair.

Any one else suspect we haven't seen the winners yet ?

Watch the mighty SLOVAKS today.
