whats the most you've been disappointed by a 'big name' at withdean?

ravanelli is an obvious one as he didn't even get on the pitch! yakubu was another as i believe pompey spent a fair bit on him

Didnt Ben Roberts pull off 3 great saves to deny Yakubu a goal?

I thought Billy Sharpe was rather pony.

I actually remember Yakubu as being pretty impressive when he played down here and obviously on his way to bigger things.

He wasn't actually there at the ground as he'd been sacked in the afternoon of the game i think!

A highly rated, at the time, Derby forward . Can't remember his name though. Got sent off for having a hissy fit and kicking the ball away after having already been booked. Could be the game Kerry scored the winner very late into the game?

true, i think i was merely disappointed as i think i was expecting him to utterly destroy us.......like i said it was his first game (i think) and he proved himself to be a class player since

another player i was disappointed by was JASON KOUMAS playing for tranmere, however i think they played him on the left wing against us and i can remember him being pretty ineffective considering he was one of the best players in that division

Paul Merson - came here with Portsmouth and was simply marked out of the game by Oatway.

Paul Ince is also a good shout but I remember his 'performance' in the 4-1 win over Wolves mainly for getting the ball square in the knackers from point blank range

I thought Billy Sharpe was rather pony.

He was a world class moaner though. If players progressed on the basis of their ability to complain at/to the ref, he'd be playing for Barcelona by now, would have several caps to his name and a fat contract advertising moaning-related products to gullible fans.
