The new tenants lasted about a year. The Ranelagh is now closed down again with a notice on the door stating repossession by Enterprise Inns. Sadly the Enterprise business model (and the pubco's greed) makes the viability of small live music pubs very limited. It's odds on the Ranelagh will now churn through tenants whilst under constant threat of being turned into flats as has happened at The Greys...
New owners, apparently. Realistically it may need an overhaul. Towards the end it was full of middle-aged blokes in leather jackets and Merrell trainers drinking a pint every two hours. Utterly beautiful but not a profit-maker

The pub is owned by Enterprise, so the owners never change just the tenants. The tenants who took it on a year ago (and refurbished it hugely) only bailed out this week, so I expect it to be closed for at least a few weeks before Enterprise can find the next mug to take it on.
Ranelagh has reopened this month. It's now aiming itself more towards a football rather than a music crowd, with a telly over the fireplace and a big Albion badge painted on the bar.
