Charlie Oatway is going to need surgery on his knee.

Ben Roberts had a tricep injury but is now recovered and Danny could be playing at Yeovil if not then against Leicester.

Oatway = bags of effort and commitment but little skill. Sad but true.

We do still have a very small squad though, which is a little worrying, especially if we want to mount a serious title challenge.

i think oatway can be a bloody good squad member, even if everyone's fit, you've got him coming off the bench for the last 20 minutes and running riot.

i say get well soon charlie...

I think Oatway is a very under valued member of the squad. His commitment is first class, yes he lacks skill but he can also break up games if we are struggling.

Plus he has the supreme ability to kick people up in the air.

Im not upset Charlie is injured, if he was fit then I think hed be in the starting line up which would be a disaster in my opinion as hes not really up to it. Last season he was poo.

Yorkie - any idea how serious the injury / operation is? How long will he be out for?

I cannot believe there are people on here that are happy about an injury to an Albion player. His lack of quality surely offers no excuse for wishing ill on one of our players. Numerous managers (better qualified than any of us) have had the chance to judge him and even the opportunity to release him. But he is still on the books. The Albion team spirit has mirrored that of the old Dons at times and has clearly been bundles better than many of our more skilfull opponents. Charlie has undoubtedly been one of the main contributors to that spirit even when not playing.

I admit I too wasn't keen to see him still part of the 1st division setup last season, but I don't wish him harm. He can still do a job for us in the 2nd division.

Agree with all of that Harold.

Charlie was a focal point of the massive change in attitude we saw in our club under Micky Adams. Charlie literally fights for the cause, and, like Danny, will just not accept below par efforts from those around him.

Top fella Charlie.

I agree - Charlie is a fighter and will always get stuck in for the team, he may not be the most skillfull of players but he fights for us with a passion that not many players demonstrate.

Get back to us soon Charlie:bowdown:  :bhasign:
