I’m going to be generous. CW is a proud Yorkshireman, an even prouder blade, and has inherited a mess beyond his powers to change. He’s clearly hurting deep inside therefore, yet has to do these stupid post match interviews which must feel humiliating after being thumped so regularly. He’s probably doing and saying what nearly all of us would also do in same circumstances. And yes, he’s lost the plot somewhat too but then I can also understand why.

You're probably right on everything except the highlighted bit.
The rest is why he's there despite probably every fibre of his being saying - 'not this time'.

I can only think of one other person, on the planet, who'd behave the way Wilder has in his last few post matches interviews and Chris Wilder ain't no Mourhino.

He could have been the only person to come out of this Sheffield Utd season with an ounce of credibility, instead he's going to leave with none, no job and dim prospects of another - very odd behaviour.

Holgate is a ****, deserves a slap for that and a season ending injury for good measure.

Always a dirty player for Everton. He usually escaped each time against us with no cards. As others said, he's most certainly a thug.

The heavy treatment handed out to Buonanotte prior to the Mitoma assault proves that the Sheff Utd players were told to go out and bully us.

Get stuck into us in the first 15 minutes, when a ref might let you get away with it, then moan about yellow cards when the ref starts dishing them out later in the game.

Wilder sent them out to put some levellers in early doors and Holgate went too far.

2: Thank GOD, KM's leg wasn't planted, otherwise it could have easily been curtains for at least the rest of the season.

That’s not the original impact for the tackle though. He actually hit him above the thigh. If you zoom in on the image you can see the stud mark on his thigh and mud on his shorts from where Holgate first caught him. He then appears to make sure he rakes his foot down his leg for maximum effect. It’s completely pre meditated and his only intention is to take Mitoma out of the game.

This image shows the original impact, there is no reason given where the ball his for the foot to be that high. I don’t know why Wilder came out and called it mistimed at first as a mistimed tackle would have caught his ankle. It’s just an assault and like everyone has said it’s lucky Mitoma didn’t have his foot planted as that’s the kind of impact that could have shattered his leg.

That tackle was so dangerous the ban need to be increased to at least 6 games. This can't just be treated as a normal incident

Having watched with my dad, a lifelong Blade, he was embarrassed… especially by the tackle, and any lack of coherent strategy prior to going to 10 as well as the training match tactics of the second half.

Bearing in mind my dad is 78, he’s rarely seen a sheff utd team this bad… he couldn’t understand the willingness to afford Lamptey et al 20 yards of space and a total lack of press… he wanted some level of desire, but hopes Holgate never wears the shirt again…

It was huge fun for me and my son though… it reminded me of the FA cup victory against Grimsby… sheff utd were just as bad and soooooooo limited… McAtee aside they’re all lower champ/league 1 players… Hamer looks unfit/fat and they were all blowing out of thier arses even though they were content to sit in a shuffle about a bit… they’re going to get absolutely dismantled time and time again… woeful.

Their pre match warm up summed it up for me with 5 defenders clearing high balls chucked up in the air by the coach. Reminds me of Dean White warming up Carr, Crosby, Cullip, Butters, etc at Withdean.

There is no doubt in my mind he was instructed to hit Mitoma asap. Wilder is a horrible boil on football and his team's play out his warped mind. Horrible prick, horrible pricks.

Can't stand Chris Wilder and his brand of football. The moment you see a long-throw specialist winding one up from the touchline you know you have a coach who doesn't have a clue. Sooner they're back in the Championship, or hopefully lower, the better.
