Yes, I know another speculation thread.

But I heard some rumours from someone I know, who knows someone, who knows a player type thing. Anyway, here is what I have heard:

*That all the players linked on here with potential moves away, are going to stay. New contracts are virtually agreed for Knight, Virgo and Cullip amongst others.

*McGhee is looking to sign Lee Bradbury (who is available on a free after being released by Walsall).

*McGhee is also looking to sign a player from Deportivo La Coruña!

*In fact McGhee is mainly focusing on trying to bring players in from abroad.

I had a few drinks, by the time I was being told this, so I am not sure how accurate it is. But thought I would share it anyway.

I love this bit of pre-season when rumours are just flying all over the place.

Bradbury might be alright if he can get his fitness knocked into shape while its about time we got some foreigners in!

That’s what I thought too!

Can’t see it being Valeron some how. Guess it will be some youth team/reserve b side player.

Bradbury was once a very good player and prolific goalscorer. I read somewhere that several clubs are after him.

I hope your rumours are true, particularly with regard to Cullip and Knight!

The last two overseas signings we made (that I remember) were awesome - John Byrne from Le Havre and Micky Small from some Greek club. We also made the play-off final that season.

Bring 'em in

I remember him doing well for Pompey in about 1999. I think he has lost his way a bit since then.

From the Oxford Mail, 12th June (see pars 9-10)

Former Portsmouth striker Lee Bradbury admits there is "a good possibility" that he will be wearing an Oxford United shirt next season.

Sportsmail revealed yesterday that U's boss Graham Rix has targeted the 28-year-old centre forward to play alongside Steve Basham next season.

And last night Bradbury admitted that he has been impressed with the set-up at the Kassam Stadium.

"I've been down there and spoken to Graham and it's something I'm considering, but I have got other teams interested in me.

"There are a couple of Division 2 clubs, one in Division 1 and a couple of others in Division 3 as well.

"But I live in Fareham and don't really want to move, so that's a big consideration for me.

"There is a good possibility that I'll be signing for Oxford because I've worked with Graham before and know what he's like.

"He's a good coach, with good contacts in the game, and is highly respected. With the players he is hoping to bring to Oxford, he is building a good team."

Bradbury, who played at first division Walsall for the last two months of last season, revealed that the Division 1 club who have spoken to him are Brighton, but he is unsure whether their interest may have waned.

"Brighton were interested in me, but they haven't spoken since they won promotion to Division 1 so I'm not sure. My agent's in talks with them."

The Isle of Wight-born striker watched United in action in Ian Atkins's final match in charge, in March.

"I watched the game against Cheltenham," he said. "I was impressed with the Kassam Stadium and the whole set-up."The team have missed out only by a point in the last couple of seasons so they clearly have some good players."

Bradbury, though, did not want to tempt fate that Oxford are favourites to land him.

"I won't say that at this stage because I wouldn't want to raise fans' hopes and then let them down."
