One of the better aspects of not being one of the so-called 'big leagues' of Europe - every now and again a talented group of players and coach come along and can do this.

Sadly, as PSG's money kicks in, this might not happen next season and many of the players may now be bought, but at least they did it.

I see Reims, a very famous old club, got promoted this year for the first time in 30-35 odd years. Might pitch a champagne weekend to the better half (taking in Reims v PSG, of course)...

Superb achievement for them, great story after the money thrown about by PSG, and Lyon to a degree. They'll struggle to keep hold of Giroud and Belhanda, the two players that made the difference throughout the season, with Giroud being a good shout for top euro 2012 goalscorer (40-1, worth a few £ e/w)!

However the fact John Utaka (Ex Pompey) got both goals pretty much sums that league up

Amazing achievement for Montepellier. Especially with PSG having more money then any team in French Football and pipping them to the League is absolutely fantastic. I can't see them doing it next season though.

No, I went every year between 1984 - 1995 and then in 1996 I went with 3 mates, in 1998 I went on my own and in 2006 and 2010 I took my own family there. Hoping to get back in 2014 so stick that in your pipe and smoke it Mr Cocky

to be fair, newcastle very nearly broke into to the top 4 this year on relatively little spending (relatively....)

Bastia also gone up - 20 years after the Furiani stadium disaster.

Montpellier winning the title is an amazing achievement but they've not always won the hearts of the neutral - quite a dirty side with an obnoxious chairman and manager playing in front of a half-empty stadium.

yes,pleased to see bastia go up,shame ajaccio couldn't manage to stay up,no corsican derby
but caen went down and le harve avioded the drop,so we do have a normandie derby
hopefully rouen can join them next season,my favourite french club
