People need to know :

1 - It is a DNA virus ( not an RNA virus like Covid ).

This means it will not generate variants as easily.

2 - There is already a vaccine.

3 - People are generally not infectious with no symptoms.

The above all makes me less concerned.

Us oldies who had the smallpox jab as babies, have some protection already.

I don't have anything to say but I've been fuming, for over two years, that I didn't start the Coronavirus thread, and I didn't want to make the same mistake again.

- Not many people have got it.
- "Infection control experts agree that while the disease is usually mild, some people can get more seriously ill."
- Boris Johnson says that the consequences "don't seem to be very serious but it's important that we keep an eye on it."

Seirously - what's the fuss all about? What's the worst that could happen?

I was going to start the Monkeypox thread yesterday, but I thought it might be a bad omen.

Just watch this all blow over now. You're welcome.

My wife was going “ooh ooh ooh ah ah ah!" last night. I thought she had Monkeypox but it turned out she just needed to put some cold water in the bath.

Saw a picture of some with a bad case of monkey pox and it set my trypophobia off something rotten.

You never know where we'll be found.

We may be comin' to your town.

Can we start a Monkeypox good news thread please?

Oh yes. We must have one of those so I can post..." good news everyone. Only 15,873 people died today from Monkey pox compared to yesterday when 15,874 people died."

I love good news. It makes me feel so much better. Such a worthwhile thread.
