Monitor help please

Have just bought a flat screen monitor from somebody on Friday Ad and it shows the message SIGNAL OVER RANGE! which is moving from top left to bottom right iof the screen and then back again. What is this and how do I remove it. Many thanks for any advice given.

resolution is set to sharp

at a guess you have your computer set on 1280 x 1024 and the screen is a maximum of 1024 x 768


get an old screen to lower the resolution

Right click your desktop , click properties , click advanced, then monitor, reduce the refresh rate between 60 and 75 Mhz

Thank you, all is well I reset it at 70 mhz. It is easy when you know how.
