Anyone read Gary Hart's column in this week's sports Argus about Molango's new nickname?

We have found out he hates being called Mongo, so naturally that has become his new nickname.
He gets in a class A mood and starts mumbling in Spanish every time it is mentioned.

:lolol: :D :lolol:

Just one question though, being a swiss-born Italian, why is he mumbling in Spanish?

He played for Atletico Madrid, IN SPAIN :jester:

I'm not doubting that, but surely he'd be mumbling under his breath in his native tongue? Be that Swiss or Italian, I wouldn't know.

I suspect 'Swiss' is a language only spoken in the mountain areas. That confusing country has several dialects named 'Swiss-something' - either Italian, French, or German - as well as the lonely goat-herd 'mountain Swiss' which might also consist of several styles in itself.

It's bad enough that we have 'manc', 'geordie', 'scouse', 'cockney', and pigeon-English from immigrants, imagine sharing no common language to equate with!

There is a Swiss patois as well as Italian French and German.

Perhaps he only knows Spanish swearwords
