Was listening to some new tracks, i dont get it why people love them so much, much of the backing music is the same as many old tunes.

Cant they think of their own any more?

But i see this and was shocked really

In the interest of debate, do you care to enlighten us as to what these tracks that sounded so much like the songs of yore were? Or are you just going to leave it at - all new music copies old music and is therefore unloveable?

It's just f***ing little boys singing into audio tunors to some electronic beat - not music

When was the golden period of music in your opinion? You must have hated the 80s! Unless, of course, your hatred for little boys singing into audio tunors is reserved for modern times?

A friend of mine was listening to the Radio 1 countdown of the greatest songs of the Millennium so far earlier this week. Fairytale of New York was in the list, WTF?

There has always been good music around even when the top selling singles/albums have been rubbish. What we get to hear mostly is what the kids are listening to, which is not going to be the best music around. On the other hand I would wager that if you took a hundred people and showed them the top 20 for 1968, 1988 and 2008 they would know more songs from 1968 than the other 2 years.

FAO Falkor, speaking as someone who spends way too much time seeking out and listening to new music, in my humble opinion you are talking a load of uninformed rubbish.

I always find that those who display an intolerance of other people's musical preferences are often themselves arrogant and opinionated in their views.

I like a whole wide variety of music from current pop right through to 70s glam rock...From 60's merseybeat to 90's Drum & Base!

If you don't like a particular style of music or artist, then get over it...There's far less trivial things to worry about.

It's not tastes or music I have the issue with it's song that's have been made before classics, but then the same backing tunes are used and a completely different song it annoys me these artists can't make there own music and have to copy.

Do you mean if people copied the tune to classics such as Radiohead's Creep or Procul Harem's Whiter Shade of Pale? Or if rap groups sample a tune of beauty like Rapper's Delight?

I guess we all have differing tastes in music.
For me however it's the difference between artists who make their own stuff and play their own instruments (Real groups) and todays manufactured tosh singing through electronic gimmikery and calling themselves 'bands'!
I blame Pete Waterman for starting it by 'morphing' neighbours actors into a duo and creating bland rubbish.....and now you have Cowell et al dictating to us what mainstream media is going to pump out! More Dross!
