Not as interesting as transfer speculation, but is there an effective way of boosting iffy mobile reception?

Orange and t-mobile have an arrangement, if you are with either of them, you can use the other's network when it's available and yours isn't. When it started you had to go to a website and register for it (free). I don't know if it's automatic yet.

I've just this week switched from three to T-Mobile and i can tell you it's automatic now. :)
