Mobile Phone Help

I just got a new mobile phone. I have all numbers saved to ny SIM card. For some contacts I have 2 numbers e.g. home and work number. Is there a way that when I transfer them to a new phone that it keeps these numbers together instead of duplicating names and putting in one number for each entry. I have simply put the SIM card in the new phone and there are duplicates everywhere.

SIM combination of numbers is phone specific, so you're screwed - do it by hand
