Seemingly, 6' 3 inch ginger bodybuilder Moat was strolling around Rothbury quite happily last night, despite most of Northumbria police, 10% of the UK's armed police officers, 20 armoured vehicles from Northern Ireland, an RAF Tornado and 6 helicopters looking for him...

So far as the PR war is concerned, Moat is beginning to make Northumbria Police look like a bunch of tits.

"He's behind you!"

Yes, looks like the endgame. Just hope there are no more innocent victims.

I love the "cordon". He's an armed "nutter" - being pursued by armed "nutters" - and they put out a 1 inch plastic strip to keep everyone safe.

Listen for the gun shots.

Probably.

What sort of cordon do you expect, the Maginot Line? Its probably only an outer cordon anyway. It's hardly likely that hordes of fat Geordies will crash through is it?

With a bounty of £10K on his head? There will be hordes of fat Geordies trying to break through that line!

Apparently the BBC is basing their reporting on information from "Paula's Mother".

But as he's still in Rothbury, and IF it transpires he's been there or thereabouts all along...that's not great, is it? A week?

Firstly he could have been all over the place- after all they already suspect him of robbing a chippy in another town on Monday, and secondly you have no idea how difficult it is to conduct a methodical search of a wide area, especially in such circumstances. Especially in open country.

I've had to do it under very different circumances and it's bloody hard, it's not just a case of wandering along in a line whistling a merry tune. It has to be systematic or you might miss something crucial, and in the situation here, knowing that a suspected armed murderer is out there, possibly seeing you before you see him, with countless obstacles to hide behind, on top of or under, well it's got to be pretty hairy.

It's all so easy when you're watching Sky News on the sofa.

You're quite right but in this ridiculous blame culture we live with these days the media will move on to massively criticising the police once he's captured and the 'exciting' chase is over
