I wonder if the Hampshire FA will make us have one before my match this evening. They did for George Best, and Ball is local so I guess so.

this clapping started in Italy

seems an excellent idea if you want to show your appreciation of someone

Also drowns out the chance of a fucknut ruining it. Far better to celebrate their life than mourn their death.

When that happens (I would have dearly loved for it to have been today, the tosser) I suggest that at the next home game, there is a full 90 minutes of chanting "David Bellotti Is A Wanker" as recognition of his contribution to our club. It's only right.

To be fair, your average football player wasn't part of the only team that's ever won the World Cup for this country.

like who?

he wasnt an average footballer, was a world cup winner and a gent and a legend at several clubs (albeit pompei and the saints), dont see how you can moan at a minutes silence for the chap

Just getting fed up with the fact that minute silences are now becoming a part of pre match entertainment.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I normally turn off my hearing aids as the tannoy mixed with the dodgy music is too much to bear, so a round of applause (how British!) before the game will make a pleasant change from the usual silence.

Why can't John Catt do the same?!
