It means you are basing your opinion of someone on what you have seen on the television. In particular within in a role where you wouldn't expect him to mention Brighton and his connection to a current top flight side to be more relevant.

Some of us are old enough to remember him as a player and especially his part in the 1983 cup final.

Just because you're not old enough to remember that doesn't mean your rather blinkered interpretation of him is any more valid.

Has he managed anywhere else? I know he scored for us in the cup final, but I didn't know anything else about the guy. Even him being a pundit on Sky has caught me by suprise! Can anyone give a quick bio on him for me please? I'm assuming I'm not the only one who hasn't a clue who he is.

Ok, I've ignored you all enough, I'm curious now. Why is it that a newbie has come along with a different style of posting and alot of you are having a hissy fit about it? My eyesight is tosh, but I have no problems reading the blue type on this forum, I see no reason why anyone else wouldn't. On all the forums I've been on, I type in blue/green because I like it that way. So, I'm not going to stop that because a few people don't like it. If you want to ignore my posts simply because I'm typing in blue, fine. Because if that is the level of your thoughts, I don't really care for having a conversation with you anyway.
