Microsoft are useless!

My lovly 360 gave me the ring of death today were the panels all go red! Anyway I look in the manual I got with it and it gave me a phone no. So I call the no. and a recording gives me a website. I go to the site and get the no.! Useless! Ive called Game however and they said they will replace it for me as its under a year old! Lucky there some use!R Has anyone else had trouble with microsoft?

Yep 360 had the 3 rings of death after 6 months. Phoned microsoft the said they would sort it but it would take 4-6 weeks.

I couldn't deal with that so i took it back to toys r us and kicked up a fuss....luckily they gave me a new one.

if you get the red rings of death you can try the towel trick rap the 360 in two towels so all the vent are covered then turn it on for about 20 mins. It will get very hot leave to cool for another 20 mins then it should work i have done this with 2 xboxs 360 i think some of the solder breaks down and because it get so hot it heats the solder back up. anyway after it worked i would take to game and trade it for a ps3 and i never looked back i think in tests it had 1 % breakdown rate and blu ray is wicked.

Mate of mine works in Virgin in Liffey Valley and they've had an EIGHTY PERCENT failure rate on 360s so far.

it would never get hot enough to melt the solder, it would set the towels on fire if it did lol.

being microsoft i'm surprised they haven't put ctrl/alt/del keys on the joypad.

I took it to game today and they replaced it no worries funny thing was as I had just left the desk another kid with a 360 said mines just broke can you help I new they had a problem but not to this extent! Lucky that microsoft have extended the warrenty to two years so when it next dies I should still be coverd!

My 360 has been replaced after 2-3 months. Didn't have red rings but kept kicking me out of games and misreading discs. Took it back to Gamestation who just went out back took off my hard drive and gave me a new one, no questions. I don't think it helped when I had mine stood vertical and knocked it over! The Gears Of War disc in it at the time was knackered and wouldn't read. It's now been buffed and now plays

Have you tried switching it off and on again?
