port vale are bust though - hardly able to say no to anything when they can barely pay the wages. If Adams wants to go then he will

Vale recently lost the services of striker Marc Richards who admitted Vale made a decent offer to keep him,but Chesterfield offered 3K a week so he signed for the Derbyshire club. Vale can't match that. For the record 67 goals from 181 starts.

and this is the exact reason why football will go bust...how can any footballer in division 4 be paid 150k a year.... what a disgrace.

Isn't Adams on the board as well as manager? Pretty certain that happened shortly after he went back to PV...

Have they got a manger at the moment? Hessentaler left in May but I cannot see that they replaced him for the last few days of the season.
They must have hired then sacked Hessenthaler at least five times by now.

Martin Allen has been heavily linked with getting the Gillingham manager's job but the fans aren't keen on the idea. More of a survival specialist and has never got a team promoted.

Micky Adams would be a good choice even though I can't stand the pikeys.

This thread reminds me of when we were playing at the Priestfield and we were one off the bottom of the 4th tier, they were in the same division as we are now. Dramatic change in fortunes that I never thought I'd see back in those dark days.

It also reminds me that Adams has jumped ship too often and somehow still manages to have the aura of being a decent lower league manager when he has actually done f*** all in the last 10 years.
