My favourite part was when he ran off the pitch at the end of extra time towards the changing rooms.

Did he need a piss? Did he need a Costa Coffee? Whatever he had, I want some.

As I said to my brother "Kuipers NEVER saves penalties"

I said the same to my son as he never gets anywhere near stopping a penalty. My sons answer was that our only hope was if they missed the goal as Schmeichel would save 2. Glad FDM, and our penalty takers, proved me and my son wrong well done to him, and I am one of his biggest critics.

Who needs all those billions of pounds when you have a former Dutch marine?

exactly...rumours of his demise are vastly wide of the mark, the man is a living legend!

The sight of him being led off the pitch at the end in a crowd of jubilant fans, from which he then extracated himself in front of the North stand to bounce around in the air like a loon, arms flailing about in wild, celebration will NEVER be forgotten by those of us privileged to have seen it and yet another of this true living legend's quite, quite extraordinary performances for this club. Magical.

Classic mazy dribble by FDM, beats their man to the ball outside his area - then carries on up the pitch, just about reaching the halfway line before realising where he is :lolol:

He was truly a legend last night! He had a fantastic game and made some good saves that kept us going! And as for running out of the area and taking on the opposition........well.......what can you say!!? Mr Kuipers, we thank you!! You did yourself proud!

Oh, and was that about the only time he's ever actually dived for the ball when he's facing a penalty. Sure picked a good night to do it

I think last night's performance from Kuipers has to me once again cemented his position as one of the best and most committed Albion players Ive seen in 40 years.

And there is serious competion for that honour - I wouldn't say it lightly.

If there was an 'Albion Hall of Fame' then my god he should be in it.

I looked on the Man City forum last night (couldn't sleep) and the thread for the match. Someone asked the question in the dying minutes of extra time, 'If it goes to penalties, do we need to worry about a League 1 goalkeeper?'

Another Man City fan posted something along the lines of, 'He may be a League 1 goalkeeper but he's exceptionally good, he has loads of experience and I would rather have Michel Kuipers in goal than Casper The Ghost. So yes we do need to worry.'

How very perceptive.
