Anyone going next Saturday? Anyone been to any of the dates so far?

I'm taking my metal hating missus to it as well and making a weekend of it. Few beers in Hoxton afters.......and in NOT going to the Albion.

I went to the Nottingham gig a couple of weeks ago - absolutley brilliant. Top form. My ears were still ringing two days later.

Me & the Mrs to be will be there. It meant missing Tranmere game but with current plight no great sacrifice. The other half has come to appeciate Maiden who are my faves, but struggles to appreciate Metallica. However, we have the weekend sorted as we are seeing Oliver Friday night then the gig sat night.

Can't wait particularly as the gig is in the round. I also like the way they vary the set list so there are often nice little surprises. My only slight concern is that Hetfield's vocals of late are a little ropey.

My missus loves most music but struggles to enjoy metal. In saying this she does like the spectacle of a live rock show, looking at the crowd etc. I took her to a Motorhead show in Germany a while back and she thought it was hilarious with huge mulleted blokes drinking from buckets of lager and banging their heads etc. It will be a family affair as Tubthumper Jünger will be joining us.

No way. They're shit.

Thank you for that considered opinion. They have sold well over 100 million mark, the Black album is in the top 20 album sales of all time, and in the US they are the 7th best selling artist of all time. Obviously those stats back up your view. :tosser:

Superwife and I are going staright from the game, train, tube done. But then again, your point about no great sacrifice is valid too. Think we'll still watch the game though. Machine Head are supporting, not seen them, but have listened to some, should be worth getting there for.

Machine Head are bloody awesome, saw them with Metallica at Monsters Of Rock in 1995! Had I known/remembered they were the support I would've got a ticket

wife wont let me. says 11 times in 5 years is enough for now. got to meet them in dublin last year. one of the best days of my life.

Whilst I love the music not so sure I'd like to meet Lars or James. They treated Jason Newsted appallingly and the Some Kind of Monster film showed them as self absorbed and egotistical. A fact borne out by releasing metal album with no guitar solos and a biscuit tin snare drum (St Anger)

I've seen Iron Maiden 18 times and have been fortunate enough to have flown with Bruce and met Steve and Nicko. All very different but down to earth blokes.

On NSC for over two decades...
I went to the gig at he O2 a few weeks back, there were pyrotechnics and lasers and a fantastic set, well worth the trip.

... didn't think much of Machine Head though...

Apologies if you know this. You cannot get to the O2 by tube on sat night as Jubilee Line closed between Green Park & Stratford. Great thinking for major gig at weekend:annoyed:
