I have to admit as much as I really like Coldplays Album I don't think it has a chance of winning, far too predictable.

Thats why Radiohead should win it. Not predictable and totally awesome.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
Athlete, for me, stand for utter banality. I can see them in my mind, sitting in the middle of the road, strumming borishly and claiming profundity.
I'd rather they weren't about.

Dizzee Rascal (only just heard some of his stuff) is slightly unpleasant, but oddly interesting.

The Darkness are just a novelty band. Would be like Jive Bunny winning.

The Thrills are annoyingly catchy and twee, but alright.

Radiohead should be winners from this list.

Dizzee rascals album is the most interesting music i've heard for a while he shouldn't win it though.

There isn't really a lot of original stuff in there so he stands a chance, i mean Coldplay? Radiohead? They aren't doing anything different from their previous albums. Ridiculous, if they are up for it why aren't the Super Furries?

The Darkness or Dizzee for me.

Reckon I can now officially qualify as an old fart. I have only even heard of two of the bands - and I don't know ANY of the songs!

there's a couple on there that I've never heard of but of those I have I'll go for Martina Topley-Bird.

Looking back over previous winners I don't think I'll be listening to any of the above a few years down the road unlike Portished, PJ Harvey, Badly Drawn Boy or Primal Scream

not inspiring and if :censored: ing Coldplay win then :censored: it all, :censored:

hairy muff,

but there's absolutely no justification for the absence of Beth Gibbons and Rustin Man "Out Of Season"

...but Dizzies doing nothing that Def Jux haven't done since 2001. He may be original to the 40 something journo brigade but to actual music buyers, he's a shite emcee behind unsyncopated tosh. Radiohead may have kept a similar formula but conceptually and technically they are on a different planet to old Dizzie.

Radiohead will win - although IMHO Lemon Jelly are also tres good.

The darkness are also pretty good (and not a novelty band, despite the way they are being put across - I saw them described as "Queen-style comedy-rock"! Pretty wide of the mark to my mind).

Athelete suck!
