Airbag light came on last Saturday during out of nowhere and I have no idea why it's there or how to get rid!

Anyone know best and worst case (cost) scenarios?

Cheers.

Had a similar problem in my beema airbag light would come on intermittently at first and then began to stay on longer and longer, took it for the mot pre-test for repair and it was the sensor under the passenger seat squab £58.00 for the garage to try out the easier sensor under the bonnet then £150.00 plus labour for the leather seat covering to be removed and the offending element wire sensor to be replaced total cost with a new shocker and ticket £657.00. Hope yours is the cheaper solution.

Cheers.

What you and all other drivers are experiencing is our desire to be in a safe cocoon of air bags and deformable structures but with this goes the tedium of electrical glitches within your on board ECU.

Ive got a Jeep, and recently had a battery problem. Called AA for home start, and he tried to put a charge through the battery. No joyso he swopped the battery. No problem.
Hang on I said, there is an Engine Management Light on, ah says patrol man, you just need the to get it reset at a Jeep dealer, its because we disconected the battery. No problem.
Oh says the man at the Jeep service centre, it turns out its not a battery code, and a full Diagnostic check reveals that the AA man has put to big a charge through, and blown the
ECU, cost of new one £1100 plus fitting.
Moral of this tale, not all AA men are brilliant mechanics, and modern cars with ECU's, can have expensive electrical gliches.

Call pfeiffers in Hove, good bunch down there. It's where I always used to take my A4

Agree with this. Nice guys tucked away in a Hove side street. As good as independent VAG garage as you are likely to find. Always used them for servicing.

My old, but faithfull, Peugeot failed the mot on this.

My mechanic, who I trust, told me the repair bill could be anything between a fiver and a few hundred, dependent on where the break in the wire is.

There's a fault finding test to find out where the possible breaks are that cost about 30 quid.

As mentioned before, mine was also just a loose connection under the passenger seat that rectified itself after moving the said seat a few times.

sheesh, hardly a mechanic problem....."a light is on" ...I have an axle and differential in bits as all mangled, with a crushed wheel bearing sprinkled on top..........can we swap problems?
