I am fairly certain that when I had a barbie at my pub in Midhurst the local butcher told me that it was as good to use Braising Steak or cheap 'flash' fry steak as to use Rump or Sirloin due to the cooking process. Would that be right or am I imaginging it.

If you need an answer or opinion ask NSC not Google.

What he probably means is everyone tends to burn the shit out of meat on a BBQ, so you might as well cook cheap meat. A properly coocked rump is is much better than any cheap stuff. Braising steak would be horrible on the barbie.

Yes, to pass by and leave empty handed would be a crime

Dunno what happened there.

I can't believe only you and me are watching Occupation.

I'm watching Occupation. Very good it is too.
Dunno what he sees in that Iraqi bint though. I bet she's got more body hair than a wookie.

After experimenting with just about every type of steak on the BBQ my preference is for Rib Eye, cut about 20mm (2cm) thick. Hot coals, 3 or 4 minutes either side. The steak has a fair amount of very fine fat in it, which dissipates into the meat as it is cooking, ensuring it doesn't dry out.

The key bit with any steak on the bbq is not to over do it.
