Not saying it's right in any shape or form, obviously, but this is why terrorists have to bring their war to the British mainland. Because unless it happens on their doorstep, the Great British Public just doesn't give a zzzz. They'd far rather immerse themselves in the Great British Bake-Off. This is why genuine genocide, blockades and bombardment were allowed to happen twenty years ago, two hour's flying time from Gatwick. Because the Great British public doesn't give a zzzz. Massive respect to Comic Relief for rubbing the great British Public's red noses in other people's misery for a couple of hours once a year. Else it'd be mainly left to the adverts during Countdown.
And... RELAX! :smokin:

I didn't see 24 hour news coverage of this incident, even though the casualties were much higher and many children were among the victims.

At the end of my tether
I am glad that the Western media are finally waking up to this humanitarian disaster which other world news has featured for some time . Hundreds of thousands of bombed out people suffering terribly . ISIS are to blame really of course but it is the U S led coalition doing the damage despite their vow to protect civilians where possible.
Contrast that with the media storm when Aleppo was seized..... Of course that was done by Syria backed up by 'those dastardly Russians' ...

I guess Mosal gets written down as collateral damage and not slaughtering innocent people. The US are also accused of bombing a Mosque in Syria killing 40 a few days ago near Raqqa.

A bit unfair, the Great British public are better than most ....

https://www.cafonline.org/about-us/publications/2016-publications/caf-world-giving-index-2016

We are also one of the very few countries that have committed to and delivered on the UN target, spending 0.7% of our GDP on foreign aid.

Think the issue was there were no easy soulutions to preventing those horrendous situations rather than public apathy. Something must be done = intervening in other countries affairs and we know that can be rather problematic .. as is non intervention.

It's also because preventing these things invariably involves dropping more bombs on innocent civilians, falling out with major powers and leaving the place on worse terms than we were before it started.

Inciting people to rise up and topple a government, warmongering on the sidelines, and supplying weapons to extremists doesn't help. When people claim we haven't intervened, it couldn't be further from the truth. I guess only a targeted attack on a sovereign government is classed as intervening these days?

And you think if it's bought to our mainland it will make a scrap of difference to our attitude or their attitude (whoever they are)
We're nutters and they are even nuttier.
