Nottingham Forest ARE a big club. Club, not team. The team is average Championship and no more. Alex McLeish is an average Championship manager, and no more. They're right to want to do better than him, but they were wrong to appoint him in the first place. Better to cull the man than compound the mistake by letting him drag down standards at the club and then give the next guy an even bigger job.
Forget McLeish, he's a waste of time. Get in a proper manager who you can back longer term, Nigel Adkins is THE man for that job and he'd do a fantastic job there. He did brilliantly at Scunthorpe as well, and I believe he's the man to take Forest back into the Premier League.
I think that this puts the George Boyd transfer in a more open perspective foreign owners poking their nose into team affairs. I don't think Adkns will take a job until the summer definitely not jump from the frying pan into the fire of taking on somebody else's problems. this season.
Serves the owners right after the shabby way they treated O'Driscoll. Although it could be argued, O'Driscoll has no right to complain after he bailed out at Crawley in a matter of months after a better offer came along.
Could be a race between Forest, Blackpool & Blackburn as to who has the most managers this season.....
I may be misguided but I didn't think that management meant to spend vast amounts of money very quickly and hope for the best.
I thought it was working with what you are dealt with and managing to improve in time with training and shrewd acquisition; rather like managing a business.
I refer readers to the numerous replies on here regarding foreign owners not having a fcuking clue and ruining perfectly sensible and traditional football clubs.
Big club? Even we've won the Charity Shield! You can't forever live on past glories you know, no matter how many European Cups you've got in the trophy cabinet. The day Forest get a ground and crowds on a par with Newcastle United we'll reconsider, but until then - big club? - it's a no from me.
