Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I defy anyone to spend a sustained amount of time in a foreign country and not pick up the accent. I would imagine that he speaks a small amount of Dutch, but not enough to give a full interview. He is going to be surrounded by Dutch and the accent is bound to rub off or is this just an opportunity to lay into the man. The useless players got off fairly lightly, when it was eventually down to them to ensure we qualify.

but he's been there about 5 minutes, right?

He is going to be surrounded by Dutch and the accent is bound to rub off

But he's doing all these "I dunno" gestures and the little sighs, and then he says something like "We will be, how do you say, the underdogs"

I'm not English (no axe to grind) but this bloke is still a :tosser:

"Already my phone has not stopped from English media requests ... it is a bigger interest now, for English football, English manager abroad, take his team to Arsenal, is big news ..."

"It is one of the reasons I came, because a good team, and they qualify Champions League ..."

What a penis.

"I thought, one of them we would draw, and it is Arsenal"

Sounds a bit like Adrie wrote his notes.

I think the funny thing is that by the end he reverts back into his usual English, but it is very funny!

What a prize cok!

Also an insult to the Dutch - the majority of whom speak fluent English and probably don't need the subtitles but must wonder why he's speaking in that daft accent and in stupid sentences.

I'm sure he's doing it subconsciously, rather than on purpose. Hasn't anybody else ever found themselves starting to mirror the accent of somebody from a different part of the country/ world when speaking to them?

Saying that, I have no explanation for why he has apparently lost the ability to speak English, regardless of his comedy accent, and given that it's Steve McLaren, it obviously makes him look like an arse
:lolol:

Just a thought- perhaps this is why England were so crap against Croatia (and Russia, and Andorra etc): the players hadn't a clue what he was saying to them?

"Sho, Rio, centre half, headersh to win, ball shendsh to Rooney, shcoring goalsh, the game is put inshide the bag, no?"
