McGhee's Best Team

Does he have any idea what his best team is?

I know he had people out injured and suspended for the City game, but looking back over the last season and a bit he seems to have no idea what his best team is or who his best players are.

And he cannot surely be picking on form given how lacklustre Hammond, and to an extent Carpenter, have been. He continues to mix up his forward line, and were this resulting in wins then I'd be a bit more tolerant of it, but it doesn't.

The side has not been settled for ages, and what you can say about the success we have had in recent years, it's been borne out of a settled side where players have had to fight to get, and fight to keep, their place in the side (goalkeepers aside, given our goalkeeping injury jinx).

Whenever the 'side for...' posts come up, we get a dozen different opinions from a dozen different people. Mcghee seems to have a dozen different opinions on his own. It is this, above all else, that makes me think he is flapping about without a game plan.

Does anyone have any idea what he thinks is his best team, with everyone fit?

:(

Anyway... best team. Not sure Magoo knows it, but mine would be (injuries permitting):

Kuipers
El-Abd Butters Hinshelwood Lynch

Cox Carpenter Reid Frutos

Robinson Revell

I would go with that although I would maybe have Hendo back and give Gatting a chance as I feel Revell needs a rest. Other than that spot on my man.

This is what the best team should be in my opinion:

Kuipers (GK)

El-Abd (CB)
Hinshelwood (CB)
Lynch (CB)

Hart (RWB)
Reid (CM)
Carpenter (CM)
Cox (CM)
Frutos (LWB)

Robinson (CF)
Revell (CF)

This is what Mark McGhee thinks his best team is:

Henderson (GK)

Reid (RB)
El-Abd (CB)
Hinshelwood (CB)
Lynch (LB)

Hart (RM)
Carpenter (CM)
Hammond (CM)
Cox (LM)

Revell (CF)
Robinson (CF)

If I had to pick a team from all the players that have played under McClown since he's been here it would be something like this...

GK Kuipers

RB Virgo
LB Lynch
CB Cullip
CB McShane

RM Carole
LM Currie
CM Yeates
CM Carpenter

CF Knight
CF Benjamin
