...........that Wilkins is!

We only lost 1-0 at Bristol City when he was last in charge.

There you are.

Proof.

No,I believe three of their players were in jail at the time, and it was only the marvelous Michel who kept getting the Albion OUT of jail on the day.

I wonder what might have happened if he'd saved the other one, too?

Not quite twice as good.

Wilkins Record from first 22 league games: W 8, D 2, L 10, Pts 26

McGhee Record from first 22 league games: W 10, D 6, L 6, Pts 36

I can help out on that one.

It would have been a draw! :)

Those are the first 22 league games of his career, with a team of teenagers, presumably? Because if it's the first 22 of his Albion career it doesn't really stand up. :)

You can't polish a turd. No manager would turn this team into promotion contenders. We need some investment I'm afraid.

BTW:

Wilkins - managing a team of kids.
McGhee - managed a team which he got promoted, then was forced to sell key assets which weren't properly replaced, resulting in increasingly piss poor results and shambolic displays.

I don't envy either of them to be honest. Micky Adams had it sooo much easier (and it even took him two seasons and a lucky find to get out of division 4).

McGhee inherited a far better side from Coppell though. Leon Knight was scoring for fun, and it took a while before he started flouncing.

Not a fair comparison in my book.

Compared to McGee's record from his last 22 league games: W 4 D 5 L 13, Pts 17

Exactly, THAT is what Wilkins inherited!

Well Wilkins hasnt played Bristol City at Withers yet.

I seem to recall Magoo first game at Withers against Bristol City was a 4-1 drubbing for us.

It is the point made above, that concerns me greatly about the business acumen of the Board.
