McGHEE FOCUSING ONLY ON AUTOMATIC PROMOTION

Great article in today's Argus; Basis of it is:

McGhee has CALCULATED how he thinks all of the remaining results will go for Albion and the teams above them.

He says he has not bothered with the teams below them as he only wants to concentrate on automatic promotion and that having worked it out, he beleives that although it is a big ask, it can be done.

Three cheers for him - he's got a winners mentality. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Definitely the right attitude. It will spread to the players and the fans!

AND it will play mind games with QPR and Brizzie!

Def the right attitude. No point saying we are in the p/off's and thats it. I rekcon we will fall just short but if we can be the form team going into it then it makes us favourites. Every game a cup final from here on in starting on saturday.

Settling for the play-offs would create the wrong sort of attitude.

We need to be fighting up until the last game of the season and then carry that form into the play-offs if necessary.

Reading's spineless approach to their last game of last season definitely contributed to their poor showing in the play-offs.

It's all very well playing mind games but one look at our away record suggests McGhee's biggest problem is to get the side playing on its travels.

Even in the middle of this fantastic run, we've won just one away game and been completely dominated for long periods (entire halves in fact). Even crap like Sheff Wed with nothing to play for utterly bossed the second half.

I'm feeling pessimistic about Saturday. A draw is the very best I can hope for.

I think we could certainly make a good show of it, but I really can't see QPR blowing it now. Think we'll finish a good third.

It's certainly fighting talk but I can't see it. We'd have to win our last six games to stand even a chance and with three away games that's surely beyond us. No, it's too late. It's the play offs for us and that's just about right.

:clap2: I still think Mystic McGhees attitude is spot on.
Yes, it's a long long long shot, but its possible. The power of positive thinking is well documented...
I would rather wait until its mathematically impossible to get auto prom before accepting a play off spot....
Having said all that, it does also pay to keep your feet on the ground and not get too cocky....

It was disappointing Tranmere missed that penalty vs QPR in the week. Rangers' superior goal dofference effectively means they are 7 points ahead, so I'd be happy that I'd got a draw if I was a Rangers fan.

If we don't beat Blackpool the automatic promotion thing is pretty much buggered anyway, but I applaud McGhee for his approach.
