The McCann case in Portugal is being closed as they have insufficent evidence against the McCanns and also means the search is over.

After a year and a bit what is the final outcome on this couple.

I have changed my mind. i am 100% convinced they are NOT GUILTY of anything to do with the abduction of Madelaine. Their crime is crass bad parenting and nothing else.

Now they are out of the limelight you just have to feel for them. Its a bad lot.

I heard they weren't sure the search is over but that they are closing the case against the McCaans.

Anyway, fuckers should have taken better care of their daughter then she wouldn't have done a Reggie Perrin.

whether or not they acted correctly aside - i think a comment like that places you quite firmly in the 'c**t' bracket.

To be fair on this one my son is four and i WOULDN'T DREAM OF LEAVING HIM WITHOUT SUPERVISION THE WAY THEY LEFT THEIR CHILDREN :nono:

I have to agree. I think twice about taking a bag of rubish out when there is no one else around, let alone going out for dinner.

The thing is, it can happen to everybody at any place. You never have 100% control on what your children are doing or where they are.

Best way to be!! Keep an eye on them "just in case"

Wouldn't be able to forgive myself if something like that happened.

They have just seemed to be a bit too calm for my comfort

No but neither do you swan off with friends for a two hour meal leaving a 3 year old in the care of a 5? year old sibling :nono:

I don't think it's for any of us to judge them on their reaction. Who can say how we'd react in the same position? Humans are all different, and there's no manual to advise how a parent should react to the unexplained disappearance of their child.

For starters, they're in a horrible kind of limbo. They probably, deep down, believe she's dead, but until they get a body back, can't quite bring themselves to grieve, just in case.

Plus in their particular situation, it's complicated by a number of other emotions- guilt, the need to be strong for their other kids, the media pressure on them etc etc.

Wasnt going to comment really as its been done to death but.. TBH if they came out and said "we f***ed up royally" which they did with their negligence then I thnk they'd have a bit more sympathy. Instead they bugger off to Brussels or whatever and start campaigns to get road signs to flash up if a kids gone missing.

I feel sorry for them but more so they annoy me that they wont take some responsibility
