McCammon- could he become a cult hero?

Can Big Mac become a CULT hero for the Albion?

Last season McCammon bashing was rife. This year there have been numerous instances of people mocking him but when he has played there has become a growing number of people who have (sometimes grudgingly) admitted that he 'has done a job'. If he was continue in this vein, scoring the occasional (important)goal, dumping players on their arses etc could you see him become a cult hero on the windswept scaffolding of Withdean?

on my birthGAY a couple o'years back we played burnley and pethick played like a f***ing maniac

his usual hoofs up the pitch were somehow always going to our players, in an almost beckhamesque fashion

He's got a novelty value, its almost like a sideshow from away the main crux of the game, will he fall over wont he, sweepstake on number of chances he'll miss, what point in the game will he go to the corner flag.

How many times will he go to the corner flag?

Probably. Much like Robbie Pethick.

And he was equally toss.

Wasn't Robbie Pethick top scorer one pre-season with about four goals or something?

No way will the trolley with the wonky wheels that carry him out to the corner flag become a cult hero.

Unlike the late lamented Sir Anthony Rougier. His loan period was hilarious and his number of stupid goals PRODIGIOUS

when a team is in a winnig position, they tend to run down the clock by putting the ball in the corner (the location of the corner flag) with the strongest player in the team so as to shield the other team from getting the ball. Hence going to the corner flag. Simple :dunce:

Yeh, but he went to the corner flag first in the 55 minute.

You watch your team to attack, win and entertain us with football. Not run to the corner flag and give themself anal with it.

but thats where the novelty value comes in, and it was only put in simple terms as 1066 couldn't seem to grasp what going to the corner meant in the context of big marks footballing prowess.
