Another horrible display of loutish thuggery bringing boxing into disrepute. Haye and Chisora all over again, Yeugh.
Frankly, I'm amazed some people want to watch it. But there again, public hangings, floggings and dog-fighting would probably be pretty big box office too, if they were permitted.

Hugely entertaining.

Will most likely receive the highest ever viewing numbers of any PPV event in history due to the pure entertainment.
These conferences are more entertaining than 9/10 real matches you'd watch.

Pretty good summary. And the irony is that anyone who watches it will know nothing about MMA or boxing. Also credit that McGregor has managed to play the hype to the extent that anyone is interested. He was very clever in realising that some point his MMA ground game would be his downfall and by comparison even reigning MMA UFC make peanuts.

News channels earlier today showing both of them getting off the same plane into the country. Suddenly changed to arriving on identical planes this evening.
Whole thing is nothing but a fraudulent show piece and although it was no surprise they got it on for the money...all the bullshit talk and now this story just makes the whole thing nothing more than a Christmas panto.

You proclaimed that anyone who watches it knows nothing about either sport.
That's a huge smug sneer at anyone who's interested in this entertainment, just because you don't personally like it.
Surely everyone already knows what this fight is though.
It's halfway between a boxing match and WWE.
It's all for show, albeit they'll genuinely go out to defeat the other.
The 4 city press-conference was a show. Charging up to £150 for tickets to tonights 40 minute trash talk.
It's a big show. People either want to be a part of it and be entertained. Or they don't.
It's pure business. Both fighters have already told us that.
He's one of a small minority that thinks this is superb entertainment, not crap.
Well, fair enough, so long as you're not trying to convince anyone it's sport.

Two top athletes, kings of their respective games, want to cash-in on an idea.
People who watch this know that they are watching a Boxer fight a UFC fighter.
Sport it sport. They are obviously both getting in that ring aiming for a win at all costs.
You don't like it and want nothing to do with it, why are you talking about it at 11:30pm on a Friday night on a message board?
Of course everyone knows it's all about the money and neither of them tried to hide that fact... but now it just looks like they aren't even going to fight genuinely!!!
