Mayo's performance

Abort, retry, fail
Shocking, although to his credit he did manage to stop them going 1-0 in front relatviely early on when he was backing up Flinders.

I don't think he won a single header and he got beaten to the ball and for pace almost every single time.

Wasn't there but I really believe we should not be playing Mayo at LB when the opposition have a speedy winger, were Doncaster quick down their right?? I am assuming Kerry was at LB

dont matter
He played like he knew he is safe for next season.
On a similar note, why are we paying Frutos?

Cadamateri was ripping Mayo to pieces. When Lynch moved more to the left he wasn't in the game at all and started getting nasty, resulting in his subbing.

Mayo got ripped apart today - his lack of pace and lack of ability / confidence was evident. Overall a really poor team display that Wilkins should find difficult to defend if he is being 'honest'.

A waste of 105 quid for our group.

Oh so we are going to conveniently forget his two through balls, the second one superb, to Frutos, in the first half, which were our best chances of the game and the only time anyone thought to play it on the ground.

Oh yeah right, nothing can get in the way of some Mayo Bashing.

Which was the first?

Personally I think his overall use of the ball was appalling - but I'm sure that some roll eye smileys and comments to the effect that everyone has an agenda against Mayo will put me right. :)

The first was the one when Frutos tried to round the keeper but failed.

The second was from deeper and cut through two defenders which Frutos hit first time I think.

Mayo is crap - end of. If he has been offered another year, I'll eat my hat. And if he plays in a Brighton shirt again this year (or ever again, come to that), it won't say much for Wilkins' judgement, which on the strength of today's performance, I already have doubts about. A woeful performance.

Unfortunately, it was a poor ball by Mayo whilst we were on the attack that lead to their second goal.

I thought it was more to do with the fact the Elphick totally lost Cadamarteri, but there you go.
