I would suggest that YOU would be better served trying to get a decent degree from the second-rate Polytechnic you attend, .

On a side note - what is the obsession with people slating University's just because they used to be a 'Polytechnic'? It seems to be stuck-up toffs who do it, or those who resent people being clever enough to get a degree.

It is well known that employers still look for graduates from certain universities and not from others. My daughter was head hunted in the November before she got her degree and an offer made to her.
