Champions League runners up Arsenal will face off against Brighton in Kerry Mayo's testimonial.
There had been much speculation to which side the albion would play, but it has now been confirmed by Mr Mayo himself that Arsenal will be the opponents. This is due to the club's connection with Arsenal's Liam Brady.
This could promise to be an event not worth missing and is certainly a game worthy of the Albion stalward.
Mayo joined the Albion on professional terms during the summer of 1995 and made his debut on November 23rd 1996, in a home tie against Carlisle. At the conclusion of that dramatic season it briefly appeared as if he had scored the own goal to send Brighton out of the league before Robbie Renielt's 2nd half equaliser at Edgar Street.
Mayo has been an Albion mainstay throughout the years, playing under 9 managers. He only made 14 league starts this season, scoring once against Southampton, yet was rewarded with a new 1 year deal by Mark McGhee.
Kerry is Brighton through and through, he deserved a testimonial like this, let's hope it's a great game!
