You mustn't call him handbags - someone will call you racist! Just say he's not good enough and it'll be good to move him on - you'll probably be OK with that. [emoji106]
Hahaha brilliant.

No aparantly handbags is pathetic and childish ....

And xenophobic and racist to others.

Mad world we live in now

Confirmed, no fee up front? Similar to Propper deal. Blimey we are giving our players away.

I'm guessing it's a better option that winding contracts down. It seems that Covid is causing the 'smaller' clubs grief in the transfer market. In other times I reckon there would have been contract fees.

Good luck Marty. Did a good job for us but a move now seems a good outcome for both parties.

2 good seasons, one downhill season and then a nightmare few months seeing his name on the teamsheet. But those first two years were fantastic, he will forever be remembered as one of the most important players in our transition from Championship to Premier League team. £5m was an absolute bargain at the time, and even more so now we're 4 years later. Best of luck at Real Sociedad.

Good move all round again. An excellent player for us for the first three years and crucial to us establishing ourselves in the PL but we've got a better keeper now and he's moving to a decent club.

Thanks for everything Maty and good luck for the future.

Me too Marshy, me too. Shame that isn't the case with quite a few others on this thread though. :nono:

He clearly did great for us, never let us down in fact, we have just moved on and found better.

It does not mean I cant appreciate him or that it makes him a poor keeper when he clearly is not.

I must say, this is quite impressive:

That’s a full 30-minute live press conference. I had no idea his Spanish was that good.

Certainly a better debut press conference than Moyes!

Not one clanger, in 3 and a bit seasons in the Premier League!

pretty incredible. Doubt there are many others to match that.

Have you seen the list from the Prem showing the ins and outs in squads. All teams (bar Palarse and perhaps one of the promoted sides) are shipping out players at a rate of knots. All cutting their cloth with the aim of reducing wage bills I would suspect. In that market, moving on high wage earners is an achievement in itself. Getting fees less of a priority - esp for those who we've had for a while where their costs will have been amortised over that period (4 years for Davy and Maty?).

A few players will be in demand - and there will be competition - many will not be and the skill will be simply to get them off the books. New reality even for Prem clubs I think.
