Remember Gus was quoted as saying;

'We are looking to sign a number of household names'

Free agent, 32 years old, would be the perfect signing at CB.

Maybe just maybe?........

Wages would be high but we are paying CMS 22k p/w apparently.

No chance at least half a dozen Premiership clubs will be in for him.

Why has he not signed for one yet then? Has been a free agent since July 1st??

Household names that won't cost us £50k a week in wages I suspect is what Gus meant.....

It's only the 12th today. I would expect numerous Premiership clubs will target him, as when fit he has been a top player. His wage demands may be putting a couple off, but it wouldn't surprise me if he went to the likes of WBA, Fulham, Wigan, Newcastle or one of the promoted clubs.

Probably because his agent is trying to secure the best deal. If he stays in the premiership he is still in with a shout for the England squad player, on premiership wages and probably has no interest in playing in the championship as that could affect any chance of getting in the squad for next years Euros. And the major reason we don't want him is that he is a donkey and not a footballer!!!!

Yeah ok then, of course he is a donkey.....

That's why he has played Premier league over the last 5 years and has 20+ caps for England.

He wont come here, he clearly said he wouldnt drop down with West Ham, also when teams like Arsenal and Spurs are sniffing about his hardly going go come here.

He was also awful for West Ham last season was supposed to be there captain, and from what i have read he didnt lead them once, a number of times Parker had to give the pep talks.

To much money for me, and the fact is after his performance last season, i wouldnt wanna take the risk on them wages

There were similar posts about CMS, not wanting Championship football and wages too high.
Amazing if that happens

This is the same Matthew Upson who passed on the responsibility of marking any decent centre forward, to his 19 year old defensive partner. I don't think it's possible for me to rate him any lower than I do.

Really really don't rate him. Found out at international level and many of the WH fans I know thought he was crap. No thanks, i'd rather pay less and get more.

spot on, West Ham relegated & still release him. If he stays in premier it will be a "smaller" premiership side :amex:

By donkey I refer to the fact that he is merely an old fashioned stopper who then hoofs. He only has 20 caps due to injuries to the first choices and that because there are few alternative English centre halves in a premiership full of better foreign players.
