Most distant league club from Brighton? Trying to get him as far away as possible?

He's not our worst midfielder by any means but would think if we are bringing in another, we'll have to get 2 or 3 off the books

Shame poor lunges/challenges cost him his place in the side as around January he was performing brilliantly in central midfield. His goal against Southampton was an obvious highlight but I can recall him bossing the game at home against Bristol City. Would have been good to see him continue that form through the remainder of the season but shows the danger of reckless challenges nowadays as he never regained his place after this.

Probably time for him to move on particularly if we are looking at mounting a serious promotion bid this season.

Sparrow is a good player. He is more than capable of playing in The Championship. He is just the type of player we need.

Maybe he's better than Harley, or maybe not. He's obviously one of the players we'd be looking to move on in order to strengthen though, and probably more saleable than Harley.
It is a shame that he got a red card in the midst of by far his best run of form for the club. But that and the red on his return to the side after did for him as a first team contender I think.

great goal against Southampton. Theres worse players at the club.

True, but it's not easy to select our worst player and find a club who wants them. We have ambitions for midfielders of greater ability that Matt, so if we get an offer, we take it, and continue to upgrade the squad.

I would be rather surprised if he went to Carlisle as he is from Sussex originally and having just come back from a time in Scunthorpe I would think that he would be reluctant to move so far away for such a short time at this stage of his career. I would have thought that he would have looked or got his agent to look for a club nearer home like London or Home Counties, dare I say it Portsmouth in part exchange for David Norris or Greg Halford especially if they have sold Liam Lawrence.

He is better than Carlisle if he does go but I don't see it - we need to strengthen midfield and with a long season ahead that means keeping something in reserve. He has the ability to get ahead of the ball and more pace than Dicker if not the same ability to spot a pass. Good enough to remain in the championship and good enough to be useful for us

I don't think he's actually from Sussex but he has a lot of family who live in Eastbourne I think it is which helped him made a decision to move to us.

Think someone on here spoke to hima nd asked him where he was from and he said Leeds.

That is where I have got confused sorry, but still a valid point if he likes the area. If he sells up to go to Carlisle he could never afford to come back again when he retires from football.
