I just started that sentence in my head and then couldn't finish it. Maybe I'm not old enough?

You can only compare like with like.
As a wicket keeper, in my opinion it would have to be Jim Parks.
As a batsman, where do you want to start, John langridge , Ken Suttle David Shepherd, Tony Gregg, Imran Kahn, Wells, Adams, the list goes on and on.

My all time sussex cricketer, JOHN SNOW.

Sorry John L did not play for England, and I am not sure about Ken or Adams, Alan I believe played once

in the sussex schools final played at hove, alan wells scored 123 no,hitting sixes at 16 years of age

lewes priory were bowled out for 62!

in the wells family ray was considered the best cricketer not alan or colin, mind you he was the eldest

I don't remember Imran Khan playing for England!! :)

But yes you have a fair point. Although I would argue Matt Prior should be compared to batsmen as well as he could hold his own on that alone.

Tony Greig for me.

Remember seeing an 8 foot tall umbrella walking towards me along Western Road a good few years ago. Underneath was the great man himself, almost as tall.
