Funnily enough I was going to, as it’s en route to LHR where I’ll be picking someone up. The timing was perfect. But not now. Withholding my £20 isn’t going to break them but it’s at least something I can do make my feelings known. I’m going to head for Reading instead.

Yeah I agree with this.

It was a bad challenge (they happen), The ref should have sent him off , but that wouldn't have made any difference to the outcome of the game.

But..

Our fans do have the right to be pissed off that we are deprived of a new signing, for the next few months, because of a seriously misjudged challenge.
I don’t think it was misjudged. I think he knew exactly what he was doing and had zero intention of getting the ball

Why have Crawley FC or Jay Williams not issued a public apology?

It would go some way to easing the ill feeling.

Claiming that he went in to injure the player us not just highly unlikely, but also a dangerous claim to make if you can't back it up. These are League One players and could make more from dragging you to court than they do from playing football.

Its a shite tackle. But you can see he is watching the ball, he's just too slow and too shit. Don't let your emotions over the injury make you believe the worst about people. Guy wants to be the tough lad in midfield and he's wreckless because of it. But that doesn't make him some monstrous human set out to break the legs of people. Get real.

'Genuinely upset' or 'genuinely upset for the stick he's getting'?

Personally, I don't believe a single, solitary word that Scott Lindsay utters. It was a horror tackle, planned and pre-meditated to injure our player.
He was so upset that he winked and laughed once he did it and was then laughing and mouthing off to the North Stand later in the match.

When do you reckon he started his grand plan? What did it involve?
I suspect he wanted to put in a leveller, by taking man and ball, but not good enough.
Yep. What things do football fans cheer? Easy headers back to the goalkeeper from a defender. Winning a throw in even though f*** all comes from it and finally winning a hard tackle. We just love it. We don't all go "oh I hope the other player is ok" immediately after. But, as you said, you miss the vital element (the ball....which is quite important) and these needlessly hard (but cheered) tackles just become hacks.

I remember the whole amex falling silent when Lewis Dunk injured Billy Sharp at the opener on 2011. We were all so annoyed at Dunk for hurting another fellow professional.....

What an absolute load of shite from Lindsey.

Williams was proud of that challenge and found it funny. He wasn’t standing over O’Riley to see how he was, he was standing over him to gloat, grin and wink at our captain, Webster.

Just an attempt to try and halt the social media avalanche enveloping his nasty player. We can all see through his BS.
