People on here have categorically stated that nobody could have done a better job, it was an unprecedented situation and nobody would have been prepared. I disagree. But I also accept there’s no way of knowing for sure.

Indeed.

And likewise nobody can prove that Christianity wouldn't have been better if Boris had been crucified rather than Jesus.

But it wouldn't have though, would it, though? ???

People ask or imagine “what would happen if Corbyn had been in charge”? Well, we don’t know for sure but considering the person that has got in the way the most is Boris Johnson, because he’s a liberalist and doesn’t want to be told what to do or give any bad news, I would say Corbyn would have likely listened to medical advice and had stricter lockdowns, sooner and handled it a lot better. Corbyn isn’t afraid of being unpopular and would have likely handed the reigns largely over to scientists rather than trying to be popular with the electorate.

Let’s just cut through the bullshit; Corbyn would have done a far better job than Boris Johnson. End of.

It’s all arbitrary. “Corbyn would have messed up”. Well, if my grandmother had wheels, she would have been a bicycle. It’s a moot point.
But to suggest nobody could have handled this better than Boris Johnson is simply ludicrous.

Totally agree. I would have taken any one of the Prime Ministers over the last 30 years or so - even longer - regardless of party, to have done a better job. People who were not afraid to make unpopular decisions and who didn’t want to stay everyone’s friend.

Gordon Brown or Thatcher spring to mind, but even May would have done a much better job.

I think having some sort of maternal or paternal instinct really helps a leader when making those tough decisions around protecting your population through actions such as closing all the borders. Our current PM does not strike me a paternal role model, I’m not sure that he really cares about other people and whether they die or not.

All he did was push him. A 61 year old bloke has a go at a 44 year old lying, duplicitous, money grabbing, self serving bastard and ends up in court

Scandalous, he should be getting an award!!

Maggie? Did you know her personally?
Absolutely hated her at the time but there wouldn't have been any of the crap which has blighted the Tories since there Covid shenanigans. She would've cleared them all out and not protected them at all.

Looking forward to Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins at 9:30pm on Channel 4 this evening.

Here's the Radio Times online review:

"Viewers who were disappointed that former health secretary Matt Hancock survived the rigors of I’m a Celebrity… will doubtless enjoy seeing him suffer during this brutal SAS selection course in the Vietnamese jungle. “I’m used to hostile environments,” he boasts, before one of the directing staff pushes him into the river.

Chief instructor Billy Billingham has admitted they “really went at it” with him and they’re clearly enjoying calling him a buffoon and telling him to shut the f**k up. There are 15 other celebrities also being verbally abused and physically challenged, including Zoe Lyons, James Argent, Melinda Messenger and Gareth Thomas."

Jermaine Pennant v Matt Hancock.

Wondering if there's a chance they could both lose?

And then her party would have ousted her.

Strange lot, the tories ???
