No, I'm just presuming they'll be charged the same as the Albion fans in the same areas, which is £34 for ESL. If they're not then while the points in this thread will disappear, we've got the 'Why are away fans being charged less than us to go to The Amex' thread to look forward to.

I guess they would be spared the transport levy, and keep the old South Stand price now that they are in a corner so their increase would only be £1 or £2.

As you say there's bound to be an argument if they do get cheaper prices though.

You wouldnt pay to see your favourite comedian 3/4 times a month for 9 months of the year though would you ? Last season I bought tickets on a match by match basis which even then plus the £2 extra booking fee for tickets wasnt cheap. People I went with last year wouldnt buy tickets at these new prices ... good job i have a season ticket now :)

No you wouldn't. But that's your choice. You're getting entertainment provided each week (well, usually), so what difference does it make? You could go to a DIFFERENT form of entertainment a couple of times a month for 9 months of the year - and you'd still be paying those prices...

I have no idea why you think I'm on a wind-up. We had "unique" costs at Withdean, but not now, now we're just the same as everyone else so let's stop banging out that tired old excuse. There are NINE Premier League clubs with a cheaper cheapest season ticket than our cheapest. We are paying an above average price in the first place, although that isn't really my problem. £34 for an away fan at The Amex is obscene. If it was any other club this board would be unanimous in its condemnation, but because it's us taking the piss a lot of people are covering it up. £30 with a booking fee to sit behind the goal for one match is not good value, and they're the only seats we have to sell. I can see them being unused for less attractive matches. And heaven help us if we have a bad season and that 22,000 STHs mark we are rightly proud of is slashed by 30 per cent. Luckily for most of us we have STHs, and while I would never describe ours as cheap, the fact we can pay monthly does at least make them affordable. However, there is going to be some serious bitching when we're asked to pay £30-£41 for a 3rd round FA Cup tie in January.

But it's supply and demand though, we're going to sell out of season tickets completely. The nine prem clubs that feel the need to put their price point below ours have done so for a reason. I'm sure we'd re-evaluate our prices should we be in that situation some when down the line.

I do agree though £34 for an away fan is an awful lot and you are right that people would be going garrity on here if they were asked to pay that at an away game as they have done many times already. Daft really as even if you deem it to be overpriced by as much as £10 then it's another tenner on what you'll spend on an away day which for most people pales into insignificance. People don't see it like that though and I'm sure away attendances will drop but that was likely to happen anyway as the ground hoppers would have probably ticked the ground off last season.

Taking your points in order:

1. see below - I think you answer your own question
2. clearly we do have absolutely unique circumstances with planning restrictions, a requirement to effectively manage transport arrangements in detail and on a scale unheard of elsewhere, added stewarding and policing requirements following from our geographic and political situation................. but then you know all this and as I recall have spoken quite eruditely on it on occassion in the (admittedly distant) past
3. Anything can happen of course but a tad sensationalist to flounce straight in with a 30% reduction forecast?
4.A factor you conveniently ignored in your listing of adverse factors - glad you finally acknowledge that the club does offer significant value in this respect at least
5.Fans bitch about cup price and allocations etc everywhere - no need for you to be in the forefront other than to stir it

Trouble for me is that you and Withdean Wanderer (never can separate you in my head) make some incredibly astute observations and clearly you have a good and appreciative football intellect but you continually dive in with negative/wind-up/fishing expeditions. I really can't figure it.......unless of course you are just by nature a miserable bugger

Why would they be spared the transport levy? They're still entitled to use the transport, so I'm sure they'll have to pay it and rightly so. I think they'll be charged £34 for ESL and £28 for the corner. Charging them less would definitely make for some great reading on here though!

Because they're unlikely to research in advance that they'd only need to buy a train ticket to Haywards Heath (or wherever it starts) and so will be paying for train travel already, and they're very unlikely to use many busses so that leaves the P&R, which I think they will avoid having to contribute towards. Personally I don't have a problem with this.

I suspect the bit of east occupied by away fans will be priced as part of the south - makes sense to offer unitary pricing for away fans. TBH though I'm ony worried about our fans
