Portsmouth and Palace were both £30 plus and those grounds are utter toilets. Most of the general sale tickets will be in the south stand at less than £30 with travel, comfy seat and a bar included, which is not the worst value in the league by any means. It's a shame there has been a £4 increase, which seems fairly substantial, but part of that is subsidising the travel so at least you get something in return for that.

i was going to say, same as before plus travel voucher, whats the problem.

however... 34/37/39 for WSL zones C/D/E? shirely theres a mistake? pretty sure WSU used to be more expensive than Lower.

No I think the West Stand Lower has always been the most expensive part of the ground (1901 etc aside). My season ticket in the WSU was a £40-50 cheaper than a mate's one in the WSL last year

So if we reach the promised land (Premiership) match by match prices will be in the region of £40-£45?

So we are paying an extra £30 or so a year for the travel included in our season ticket. Last year this included FIVE cup games.

Now we will be having to pay an extra £4 on top of match day tickets for cup games, does that mean we will be paying for TWO lots of travel vouchers? Can anyone clear this up?

Has this announcement been released first thing in the morning to let people have a grumble, then trust it will all be forgotten if they are announcing a new signing or two later on today?

I truly cannot wait until Beach Hut picks up on this. He will be 'paying' for his train travel 3 times

i'm not going to fall out with you (or the club) over this but do you honestly think football in general represents good value these days? yes we have great facilities but if you have a young family the cost of two adults and two children wont leave any change out of £120-£130 quid (?) what family of that description has that much spare in a month?, now what if said family have just left a game like last seasons Hull match for example, would they be saying "can't wait till the next match!"?. A season ticket represents good value to me and i'm fortunate I do have a couple of quid each to 'burn' but not everyone is in the same boat. If we reach the Premier League I might find myself priced out, it'll break my heart but what can I do? If I voice the fact that I cant afford a 30% (lets say) increase will I get slated with a 'ffs'?. You make a valid point about our stadium and facilities but price increases at the match are never in line with inflation. "If you moan your mental"? If you moan you're a passionate realist who doesn't have the same income as some on here that appear to have no upper limit on what they would spent on an away match ticket or a friendly! (ffs)

The simple solution is to bring back terracing and have cheap standing tickets. The north stand could easily be converted. As I understand it, from Danny Baker, standing is a licensing issue and is not a law. If someone challenged the licensing authority there is a good chance they would win.

How does that compare with other teams in the division? I would have thought £32 would be about the norm now?

I'm sure my friend said the pay on the gate price at Palace in the Holmesdale was £30, so taking into account facilities I wouldn't say £32 is that expensive. Bloody glad I renewed my ST though!

About £30 isnt awful - only a slight increase on last season, but now you get "free" travel to the game in the travel zone. Helpful to away fans too as they only need to catch a train to Haywards Heath/Shoreham (depending on the team) or just use the P&R - club seriously needs to promote this to the away fans.

Would have thought that away fans will be charged Zone A prices myself - isnt clear though.

before you get really pissed off, why not actually look at the pricing details first.

very clearly there are substantially discounted seats available in ALL sections for under 18s (from £14) and under 10s (from £7). that is an excellent pricing strategy for the next generation. and doesn't even include the even better deals available in the family stand.

Sort of.

Having read up on it, the act of standing is not an offence - it's a breach of the licence. As the licence holder is the football club, it's they who are committing the offence.

I'm not a lawyer, of course, but that's the way I've read it.

This comparison is like saying I don't mind paying £4 for that jar of Alta Rica as a jar of Mellow Birds is £3.75

(at this moment I might add that i've confused myself here and am not sure what point i'm actually making so don't ask!)
